Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu rushed to safety after rocket attacks at his campaign

Date:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday was rushed off the stage, straight into a bomb shelter as rocket attacks from Gaza (Palestine) struck the southern city of Ashkelon in Israel.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) tweeted that the Iron Dome had intercepted a rocket fired at civilian targets, mid-air. However, no damages or casualties were reported.

The Israeli Premier who was campaigning in the southern city was rushed off immediately after the bomb sirens went off in the southern city, while the Minister of Culture and other officials belonging to the Likhud party continued the campaign.

The Prime Minister was back in the campaign trial after normalcy was restored in the city. He immediately announced that the mastermind behind the attack, and the person who is responsible for today’s strike should pack his bags. He said, “The person that shot at us before is no longer with us. Whoever shot at us now should pack up his belongings. ”

The IDF in response tweeted that it had struck deep targets inside Gaza.

The opposition leader Benny Gantz said, “The situation in which Israeli citizens are at the mercy of terrorists, and the Israeli prime minister cannot patrol part of his country is a certificate of poverty for the southern security policy, and a loss of deterrence that no sovereign state can accept.”

He added, “We will replace the government, change the policy and restore deterrence and quiet to the people of the south.”

The two parties, Likhud and Benny Gantz led ‘Blue and White’ party failed to form a coalition after the September 17th elections which proved inconclusive.
