Petrol, diesel price surge in the national capital, other states

The prices of petrol and diesel went up for the third consecutive day in the national capital. It now stands at Rs 75.04 and Rs 67.78 per litre, respectively on Monday.

The rise comes in because of the rise in crude oil prices in the international market. After the daily revision in retail fuel rates, petrol prices rose by 16-17 paise while diesel prices went up by 18-19 across four metropolitan cities in the country.

In Gurugram, petrol prices rose by 13 paise to Rs 74.53 a litre. Diesel price in Gurugram rose to Rs 66.84 a litre as compared with Rs 66.68 per litre on Sunday. The price of petrol in Noida rose by 12 paise to Rs 76.32 a litre while diesel was selling at Rs 68.10 a litre as against Rs 67.92 a litre yesterday.

In Kolkata, the petrol prices stand at Rs 77.70 for a litre of petrol after an 18 paise jump over Sunday’s rate. Diesel prices rose by 18 paise at Rs 70.20 per litre.

In Mumbai, petrol and diesel now cost Rs 80.69 a litre (+16 paise) and Rs 71.12 (+19 paise) per litre, respectively.

In Chennai, petrol became 17 paise costlier today as it now sells at Rs 78.02 per litre while diesel price moved 19 paise higher to Rs 71.67.

The retail price of fuel in India is dependent on global crude prices and the Rupee-US dollar exchange rate.
