Saryu Rai dancing after defeating Raghubar Das? Here’s the truth

A video of a man dancing is being shared online with a claim that Saryu Rai is dancing in Jamshedpur after defeating Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das.

“रघुबर दास को जमशेद पुर से हराने के बाद सरयू राय का जबर्दस्त डांस परफोर्मेंस ।” – the caption read.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false.

We took the screengrab of the video using InVID took and then ran the picture through Reverse Image search. Our search led us to the same video uploaded on YouTube on August 28, 2016.

We also checked the official social media accounts of Saryu Rai where we found his tweet clarifying that the man in the video is not him.

After my victory in Jamshedpur East assembly constituency, a video of a man resembling myself, dancing to the tune of a popular song (is being shared). Do not consider it to be my dance performance. The credit should be given to that distinguished artist. My best wishes to that artist, “he tweeted in Hindi. 

The above information proves that the claim attached to the viral video is false.
