Mumbai Police bust ‘high-profile’ prostitution racket; 2 actors, 1 minor involved

Mumbai Police have busted a ‘high- profile’ sex racket that was operating out of a three-star hotel in suburban Andheri. In the raid, they arrested a 29-year-old woman and rescued three female artists, including a minor, who were forced into prostitution.

As per official sources, the Social Service (SS) branch of the city police conducted the raid at the hotel at Andheri East on Thursday.
Out of the three women found, one of them is an actor and singer and has worked in popular television serial titled in ‘Savdhaan India’, a crime show. Another woman is also an actor worked in Marathi movies and serials.
One of the three is a minor, who has also worked in web series.

The lady who allegedly ran the racket has been identified as Priya Sharma and has been arrested. She is supposed to have forced the other three into prostitution.

“Sharma was running a tours and travel agency in Kandivali East. However, she was involved in immoral activities,” senior inspector of SS branch, Sandesh Revale has said in a statement.

A case has been registered against Sharma and investigations are on.
