Woman threw dirty water on CM Kejriwal while he was campaigning? Here’s the truth being this picture

A picture of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is being shared online with a claim that a woman threw dirty water on him while he was campaigning.

“शुरुआत हो गई ,एक महिला ने वही गंदा पानी केजरीवाल के ऊपर फेंका जो नल से आ रहा है !”

At the time of filing the report, the above post had around 1,200 shares.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be fake.

On putting the image through Reverse Image search, we an article on a website called ichowk dated 21 August 2017.

The caption on the picture read, ” बवाना विधानसभा की गलियों में पसीना बहा रहे हैं केजरीवाल” ( Translation: Kejriwal, sweating in the streets of Bawana Assembly )

The picture was taken when CM Arvind Kejriwal was campaigning for the Bawana Assembly seat by-polls. 

We also found a video by Dilli Aajtak from the same day, where he can be seen campaigning while sweating profusely in Delhi heat.

We also searched on Google and did not find any news reports to support the viral claim.

Arvind Kejriwal also held a roadshow in Bavana on January 27, 2020 while he was campaigning for the upcoming assembly election.

 The above information proves that the viral claim is fake and the picture is from 2017.
