India rejects avoidable references to J&K by Turkey; lashes out at Pak state sponsored terrorism

Date:

The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday reacted strongly and rejected the Pakistan-Turkey joint statement which had incorrect and avoidable references to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, an integral part of India and called upon them to condemn the more severe threat of Pakistan state sponsored terrorism.

The Turkish President Recep Erdogan who is on a visit to Pakistan compared the so-called struggle of the people of Kashmir to that of the Turkish people during World War-1. These comments were made when the President addressed the Pakistani parliament.

India then categorically rejected these false utterances and asked the Turkish leadership to stop interfering in the internal matters of India.

The Ministry said:

“India rejects all references to Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral and inalienable part of India”.

“We call upon the Turkish leadership not to interfere in India’s internal affairs and develop a proper understanding of the facts, including the grave threat posed by terrorism emanating from Pakistan to India and the region”.

India has in the past too strongly rejected references to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir coming from Turkey.

“The Turkish President who is unable to tolerate any sort of dissent and crushes democracy in Turkey, found a partner in Pakistan which is a sham democracy and a mass exporter of terrorism across the world” said a research scholar.
