US President Donald Trump may have shrugged off the coronavirus scare by refusing to go into self-isolation but a cursory look at how Covid-19 has not spared even those in high offices across the globe should make Trump see reason.
Trump had come into contact with the Brazilian delegation led by President Jair Bolsonaro. One of the members of the delegation tested positive for the virus. It was then reported that Bolsonaro tested negative for the virus.
Politicians and high- ranking officials the world over have been tested positive for coronavirus. NewsMobile takes a look at these cases:
Sophie Trudeau, wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also tested positive for the virus, following which the Prime Minister announced that he will be self-quarantining himself.
In Britain, Nadine Dorries, the Mental Health Minister announced earlier that she had tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Australian Home Minister Peter Dutton,
The Iranian media reported that Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi have tested positive for the virus. It is believed that over 20 political leaders have tested positive for this virus and even a few of them have passed away.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced that he had tested positive and is in the process of going through self-quarantine.
President Donald Trump and President Jair Bolsonaro have in the past stated that the impact of the virus is over-stated. But while Bolsonaro may have heaved a sigh of relief after testing negative, Trump would do well not to take the scare too lightly.
