Fact Check: The post about CEO of Himalaya Drug Company sponsoring terrorism is FAKE

A picture is being shared on social media with a claim that the man in the picture is Mohammed Menal, CEO of Himalaya Drug Company. The text attached to the post also claims that he ‘donates 10% of his income to Jihadists’.

” This is Mohammed Menal. He is the owner of Himalaya Ayurvedic products. He donates 10% of his income to Jihadist’s.

So it’s up to you to decide if you need to buy Himalayan Products.
I will never buy Himalaya products and ask you for your support.😡😡#Boycott_Himalaya Products #” the caption read.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found the claim to be false.

On putting the image through Reverse Image search, we found that an article by Economic Times, where he is identified as Himalaya Drug Company CEO, Philipe Haydon.

Moreover, we also found a tweet by the Company stating that the message being spread on social media is not true.

As per the company’s website, it was founded in 1930 by M. Manal (Mohammed Manal as per the Business standard article) who passes away in 1986.

The above information proves that the viral post being shared online is false.
