Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a complete lockdown in India for 21 days from 12 am on Wednesday to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

1. From 12 midnight today, the entire country will go under a lockdown for 21 days.

2. There will be total ban on venturing out of homes. This will be more stringent than Janata Curfew.

3. Period of 21 days most crucial to break the cycle of infection.

4. ”If we are not able to manage this in 21 days, the country will be set back by 21 years, many families will be destroyed forever”.

5. “Forget about venturing out for a few days.Do just one thing: Stay at home”.

6. It took 67 days for number coronavirus patients to reach 1 lakh. Next 1 lakh got infected in 11 days and the next 1 lakh got infected in just 4 days.

7. There is a ray of hope from countries who have managed to control coronavirus.

8. Centre has made provisions of Rs 15,000 crore to boost up health infrastructure to deal with Covid-19.
