Fact Check: Clip from a Korean movie is being shared as situation in Italy

Date:

Yet another video claiming to be from Italy is doing the rounds on social media. In the video, something similiar to dead bodies, can be seen being dumped into a huge hole in the middle of, what appears to be, a stadium.

In the video, ‘Italy‘ can be seen written in big and bold fonts.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found the claim to be false.

We extracted the keyframes of the video using the InVid toolkit and then put them through Reverse Image Search. The result showed us that the clip is from a Korean movie, ‘The Flu’, which was released in 2013.

We ran a search using relevant keywords and found the movie on YouTube.

On closely examining the entire movie, we found the viral clip at 1:21:22 mark of the movie.

This proves that the viral claim is false and the clip is not from Italy.
