Did Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal celebrate Ram Navami despite the lockdown? Here’s the truth

Date:

A picture of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is being circulated on social media with a claim that he was celebrating Ram Navami amid lockdown due to Coronavirus.

#सोशल_डिस्टनसिंग का पालन करते हुए । रामनवमी पर केजरीवाल । अब किसी को कोरोना नही होगा ।” the caption read.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the picture to be old.

On putting the Image through Reverse Image Search, we found that the picture was taken in Feb 2020 after Kejriwal visited Hanuman temple post winning the Delhi Elections.

In an article by The Wire, dated February 13, 2020, the same picture was captioned, “Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita and Manish Sisodia at a Hanuman temple after winning the Delhi elections on Tuesday(Feb 11, 2020) Photo: PTI”

This proves that the picture is old and hence was not taken on Ram Navami which was celebrated on April 2, 2020.
