Fact Check: Rotis with ‘Abki Baar Modi Sarkar’ stamp is NOT being served during lockdown

Date:

A few pictures of Rotis with ‘Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar’ stamped on it are being shared on social media.

The post implies that these are the rotis that are being given to the underprivileged people (during the lockdown due to COVID-19).

“क्या शर्म नहीं आनी चाहिए इस सरकार को
दूसरों को नसीहत दे रहे है , कि इस वक्त कोई राजनैतिक प्रचार प्रसार ना करें ।
और इन लोग ने तो रोटी में ही राजनीति घोल दी।” the caption read.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that these pictures are from 2014.

We ran a search using keywords ‘ abki baar modi sarkar roti’ and found several media reports dated 2014.

According to a report, an eatery in Varanasi, Yadav Dhaba, in 2014, was selling this bread. However, other parties had a problem with that and the hotel was instructed to stop serving this roti by the administration.

This proves that these rotis are not being served to the underprivileged people during the lockdown period. Hence, the claim is false.
