Government is NOT reducing employees’ pension by 30%; here’s a fact check

Date:

Amid the nationwide lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak, a claim is doing rounds on social media according to which ‘the government is intending to reduce pensions of government employees by 30% & terminate it altogether for those above the age of 80’.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FAKE.

Government sources confirmed that no such move has been made by the authorities and the claims are baseless.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) in tweet explicitly clarified that this information is untrue and the government employees will get their pension without any deduction.

Hence, in conclusion, the news about 30% cut in the pension of government employees is FAKE.
