Pak PM Imran Khan’s wife has NOT tested positive for COVID-19; this graphic is FAKE

Date:

Several posts have been doing the rounds on social media claiming that Pak PM Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The source for the claims, is allegedly a screengrab from the Hindi TV News channel, Aaj Tak. It further claims that the family’s driver has also tested positive for COVID-19. While a servant has shown symptoms, Imran Khan has tested negative.

FACT CHECK

We fact-checked the above claims and found them to be false.

Firstly, we did not find any such news by Aaj Tak nor did we find anything on Imran Khan’s official social media accounts.

We noticed that the layout of the viral image is significantly different from some of the bulletins on Aaj Tak’s YouTube channel.

Further on the top left, the word Breaking News is cut off and reads “eaking News”. These mistakes lead us to the conclusion that the viral screengrab is doctored.

Rahul Kanwal, News Director of India Today, also took to Twitter to clarify that the screengrab is FAKE.

The above information proves that the viral image is FAKE.
