COVID-19 | All domestic and international flights, passenger trains suspended till May 3

Following the announcement of the lockdown extension till May 3 by PM Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Indian Railways announced the suspension of their services till May 3.

The Civil Aviation Ministry announced that the airline operations of all domestic and international flights will remain suspended till May 3.

“All domestic and international scheduled airline operations shall remain suspended till 11.59 pm, 3rd May,” the Ministry said.

Officials from Indian Railways said that the suspension of its passenger services will extend till May 3.

“All passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains, Suburban Trains, Kolkata Metro Rail, Konkan Railway etc shall continue to remain suspended till the 2400 hrs of 3rd May”, said the Railways Ministry.

Earlier today in his address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi announced that the country will remain under lockdown till May 3 to contain COVID-19 cases.

The 21-day lockdown, which was announced by the Prime Minister last month, was slated to end today.

Odisha, Punjab, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry had already announced the extension of lockdown.

India’s total number of coronavirus positive cases has now climbed to 10,363 including 8,988 active cases, 1,035 cured/discharged/migrated and 339 deaths, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
