The government and the private sector have in recent times launched many online tools to encourage the process of e-learning.

The government has recently launched the Vidyadaan 2.0, an IT platform to promote e-learning. All stakeholders will be encouraged to develop solutions and give instructions through this medium.

The CBSE’s Diksha app too isn’t far away in facilitating e-learning.
The Diksha platform offers teachers, students and parents to engage with the learning material relevant to the prescribed school curriculum. The portal can help millions of children and teachers across the nation to continue learning anytime and anywhere.
The private sector has been dominated by Byjus which has in recent times turned into a unicorn. It not only dominates the education space but is also helpful in competitive exams and has brand ambassadors like Shah Rukh Khan.
Doordarshan, which is India’s largest broadcaster, is being used as an effective strategy to educate the masses. State governments are actively promoting these courses to ensure maximum benefits and reach.
Punjab, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh are few states that are making efforts to broadcast the classes through DD and AIR.
Recently, the Himachal Pradesh government launched ‘Har Ghar Pathshala’ programme to provide teaching facilities at home to students.
Students are also taking online classes through Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts etc and can also be in frequent touch with their faculties for any problems through these platforms.
Online courses are also available on platforms like Swayam, Coursera, edX where students can get access to notes, content and free books through various online platforms.
The Haryana government has been at the forefront of encouraging e-learning. It is one of the few states to use ISRO’s Edusat, a satellite service.
Edusat was built in 2004 and is the first Indian satellite built exclusively for the education sector.
India is an IT power and it is during crises like these that its innovative abilities can be maximized. The government, as well as the private sector, have reinvented themselves and adapted to the changing times.
