A picture of former JNU Student Union president, Kanhaiya Kumar, has surfaced on the internet in which he can be seen with a shoe tied to his face.
The caption in Hindi read: “अब तो यह वायरस भी.. चीनी वायरस से डरने लगा मतलब स्थिति बहुत गम्भीर है मित्रों”
(Translation: Now even this virus is scared of the Chinese virus, that means the situation is very serious friends.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture and found it to be morphed.
On putting the picture through a Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture in which there is no shoe.
In fact, on closely analysing the picture, we noticed that the original picture was flipped before superimposing a shoe on Kanhaiya’s face using a photo editing software.
Hence, the above analysis proves that the picture in question is FAKE.
