Fact Check: 2018 Video From Saudi Arabia Viral As Camels Stuck In Dubai Flood

A video of camels being swept away in water is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that it was taken recently in Dubai. Several countries in the Middle East experienced intense rainfall, resulting in flooding in many areas.

The post reads: The other side of Dubai. The desert. Animals in the flood.

NewsMobile fact-checked, and found it to be false.

Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found a similar video shared on Facebook in October 2018.

This indicates that the video in circulation is old. Searching for reports from 2018, we traced another report by Northeast Live, where the video was shared with a title: Flash flood claims 30 lives in Saudi Arabia.

According to a report by La Razom, the torrential rains flooded Saudi Arabia in 2018.

Thus, it is clear that the viral video is old.
