Fact Check: Was a deer spotted on a beach in Odisha during lockdown? Here’s the truth

Date:

A video post of a deer on a beach is being shared online with a claim that it is from the sea beach along the Puri-Konark Marine Drive Road in Odisha and the deer is spotted as humans are locked inside their homes due to the lockdown.

The caption of the post reads: “As humans are caged at home, animals are thoroughly enjoying the opportunity! Somewhere on the sea beach near Chandrabhaga, along the Puri-Konark marine drive road in Odisha.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we came across the same video posted by a Facebook user, Anthony Martin, on November 10, 2015.

However, he didn’t mention the location of the video.

Though NewsMobile could not independently verify the origin of the video, but, the above information establishes that the video in question is old as it was already on the internet much before the lockdown came into effect in India.
