No plans of another lockdown in Delhi: CM Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday clarified that no lockdown will be imposed in the national capital in the coming days.

“Many people are speculating whether another lockdown in Delhi in being planned. There are no such plans,” a tweet by the Delhi CM read.

The Delhi Government today also issued an order to private and government laboratories, asking them to work with their full capacity and increase their COVID-19 testing capacity. As per the order, private labs will have to give results within 48 hours.

Earlier in the day, an all-party meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in which proposals regarding increasing the numbers of beds in hospitals that come under the Delhi and central governments had been raised.

Representatives from BJP, Congress, AAP, among other parties and senior officials took part in the meeting held at the MHA today.

Delhi, at present, reports the third highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country with the tally at 41,182 and a death toll of 1,327.
