Fact Check: Has NEET(UG)-2020 been postponed to August? Here’s the truth

A public notice, allegedly issued by National Testing Agency is doing the rounds on social media.

According to the notice, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG), which was scheduled to be held on July 26, 2020, has been postponed and will now take place in August.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral notice and found it to be fake.

Press Information Bureau clarified that the viral notice is fake and has not been issued by the National Testing Agency.

The date of publishing in the viral notice is June 15, 2020. However, On the NTA website, there were only two notices that were published on June 15, 2020. One regarding extension/revision of last dates for submission of online application forms for various examinations and the second about adding of two more cities in the application form for All India AYUSH Post Graduation Entrance Test.

We also noticed that in the viral notice, the signature of the Director General of NTA Vineet Joshi (or any issuing authority) was also missing. The viral notice also did not contain the address and contact details that were present at the bottom of all other notices.

Hence, the above information proves that the notice is question is fake and no such announcements have been made by NTA as of yet.
