As the coronavirus pandemic took most of our interactions to virtual platforms, many of us had to adjust to this ‘new normal’ either willingly or unwillingly. Goes without saying, a lot of problems followed. Is the mic turned off? Is the video off? You’re on mute! The list goes on.
However, getting indulged in activities other than what a meeting requires you to do, while thinking that the mic or video is off, landed many people in trouble. A girl named Shweta happens to be the latest victim of this.
The incident came to light when #Shweta started trending on Twitter after a group call went viral. In the group call, Shweta happens to forget turning her mic off before getting on a call with one of her friends to discuss some personal stuff.
While many people who were part of the call tried to alert her that her mic was off, the audio didn’t seem to reach her and she continued with her call for several minutes.
The viral video left netizens in splits and a social media meme storm followed.
