A picture of a bicycle is being shared on social media with a claim that the picture shows a bicycle which was used at police stations during British rule in India.
“अंग्रेजों के समय का साईकल जो पुलिस स्टेशन में होता था,” the caption read.
(Translation: British cycle which used to be in the police station)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.
We ran the image through Reverse Image search and found the same picture in a tweet from 2020.
“German WWI Herrenrad Victoria military bicycle with spring tyres due to rubber shortages during the war,” the tweet read.
We also found the same image on a website called onlinebicyclemuseum.co.uk.
The website has several pictures of the same bicycle, which have been referred to as vintage German spring wheel bicycles.
“World War I German Bicycle: Herrenrad Victoria Model 12 with Mauser ‘GEW 88’ rifle,” the caption of the picture read.
“The spring wheels were not on this bicycle when it was found in France, alongside an American WW1 Columbia Military Model. I managed to find the front spring wheel at Beaulieu Autojumble, and I got the rear spring wheel a year later from the USA, just in time to use its photos in my book”, the author of the article, Colin Kirsche wrote.
He also put out the same picture on Facebook along with images of multiple other vintage bicycles.
We also reached out to Kirsche and the article will be updated if and when we get a response.
Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the post in circulation is false and misleading.
