As IT Raids Continue At Properties Of Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu & Vikas Bahl, Rahul Cries Vendetta

Bollywood celebrities continue to face Income Tax department’s questions, as the probe that began on Wednesday on filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, actress Taapsee Pannu and Vikas Bahl was extended today.

Income Tax officials conducted raids at the Mumbai residence of these bollywood stars, The raids began in the morning and continued till evening yesterday.

The premises of businesses linked to Pannu and other promoters of Phantom Films, including Vikas Bahl, are also being covered, PTI reported.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has spoken out against the raids and called it a vendetta.

In a tweet in Hindi, he criticized the government for conducting IT raids on those who have extended their support to farmers’ protest. He also used the hashtag- #ModiRaidsProFarmers in his tweet.

The action is part of a tax evasion probe against Phantom Films, which was dissolved in 2018, and its then promoters Kashyap, director-producer Vikramaditya Motwane, producer Vikas Bahl and producer-distributor Madhu Mantena.

Founded in 2011, Phantom Films produced films such as Lootera, Queen, Ugly, NH 10, Masaan and Udta Punjab.
