A few pictures are being shared on social media with a claim that a huge cross was erected at the spot where the idol of Lord Narasimha exists in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
“See huge illegal Cross in Edlapadu, AP where once foot prints of #SitaMaa existed.Carving of Lord Narasimhama exists at back. In Guntur Dist Christian mafias have created havoc,” the Facebook post claimed.

After the pictures went viral on social media, the Guntur rural district Police took to Twitter to refute the claim.

In the video, it is clear that the cross and the Narasimha Swami idol are on different hillocks.
The News Minute in their article also quoted the Sub-Inspector of Edlapadu, who stated that the claim holds no truth. He said, “The hillock on which the cross was erected is around half a kilometre away from the hillock on which the idol of Narasimha Swami is present. The hillock on which the cross was erected is known locally as the Rahadari Mata shrine.”
Moreover, Guntur District Collector also clarified that the post is false.
“As reported by the SP Rural Guntur and Sub Collector, the allegation that the Cross was erected where Sita Maata footprints and carvings of Lord Narsimha existed is not true. The hill with Sita Maata footprints is different from the hill which has the Cross,” he tweeted.
