A video of Trinamool Congress’s candidate from Asansol Dakshin, Saayoni Ghosh, is doing rounds on social media. In the video, she can be seen running away from a crowd. It is being claimed that Ghosh started running because she was harassed by her own party members.
A Facebook user shared the post with the caption: “Trinamool candidate from Asansol Saayoni Ghosh, forced to run after being harassed by her own party members.“

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false.
Firstly, on putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on Saayoni Ghosh’s verified Facebook page dated March 22, 2021. The title of the video read, “It’s only pyaar..because #Banglanijermeyekeichaye…”
At the 2:36 timestamp, she can be seen running and meeting people and shaking their hands. She can be seen running towards a group of people holding a garland in another video she uploaded on her Facebook page. “My feet my will”, the caption of the video read.
Further, we found that it is something that she usually does during her campaigns. We found a video by a local media organisation, Sangbad Pratidin published on March 24, 2021, with the title, “TMC Candidate Saayoni Ghosh running again, uploaded video on Facebook”.
The above video establishes that it was not the first time Ghosh was running during a campaign.

In conclusion, upon analysing our findings, it is safe to say that Saayoni Ghosh was running as a part of her campaign and not because she was harassed by her party members. Hence, the claim is false.
