Fact Check: This Photo Of A Patient Being Transported On A Stretcher In Front Of Central Vista Construction Site Is FAKE

Date:

An image is being widely shared on social media in which a healthcare worker in a PPE suit can be seen transporting a patient on a gurney in front of construction boards of Central Vista.

The central vista project envisages construction of a new triangular Parliament building, a common secretariat for central government offices, along with the Prime Minister’s office and residence, Special Protection Group building and Vice-President Enclave.

The post is shared online with a caption that reads, “Central vista project in Delhi declared an essential service. Work continues.”

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be misleading.

Putting the post through Reverse Image Search, we found the image of the boards in an article published on April 27, 2021.

We found the other image on Reuters where the caption read, “A health worker wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) carries a patient suffering from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outside the casualty ward at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, in New Delhi, India, April 24, 2021”

From the above fact check, it is evident that two different images have been photoshopped to create the morphed post with a misleading claim.
