Baby Shark Becomes First YouTube Video To Reach 10 Billion Views

Do you have a young kid? If yes, then you must have heard them singing, “Baby Shark Doo Doo Baby Shark”, Now your kid’s favourite song has also made to Guiness World Record.

“Baby Shark Dance” has become the first YouTube video to receive 10 billion views!

According to Guinness World Records, “The catchy singalong by Pinkfong (Republic of Korea) was first uploaded in 2016, becoming the most-viewed children’s music video on YouTube, before surpassing Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” in 2020 as the most viewed music video on YouTube and the most viewed video on YouTube overall.”

The song originated in the 20th century and was a campfire song. Its Pinkfong version shows sharks going on hunting and then run away, other versions involve sharks eating sailors and humans. The YouTube video became a sensation in Indonesia, South Korea, quickly spreading to the rest of Asia and beyond 2017.


The song was sung by Hope Segoine, aged 10 years old at the time, it peaked at No.32 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No.38 in the Global 200.

Later, the South Korean girl group, Blackpink sang the song and it became a sensational song.

By February 2021, the Baby Shark song has over 33 million likes and has over 10 billion views.
