New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to discuss the rapidly evolving Ukraine situation on a day when an Indian medical student was killed in war-hit Kharkiv city.
Indian student Naveen, who hailed from Karnataka, was killed in Russian shelling. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the student’s family and offered his condolences.
PM Modi also met President Ram Nath Kovind and briefed him on some of the vital issues, including the Russia-Ukraine war and India’s efforts to bring back its nationals safely from the war-torn nation.
At PM’s initiative four Union Ministers — Hardeep Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijuju and General (Retd) V K Singh — are travelling to neighbouring countries of Ukraine as special envoys to coordinate evacuation operations of Indians who have to be taken out of the war-hit region.
