New Delhi: Ministry of External Affairs has appointed Vinay Mohan Kwatra as the new Foreign Secretary on Monday.
1988 batch IFS officer is currently India’s ambassador to Nepal and will soon take up his new assignment.
He will succeed Harsh Vardhan Shringla who is set to retire at the end of this month.
In over 32 years in foreign services, he has served as the ambassador to France and has served in Washington DC, Geneva, Beijing and South Africa.
From October 2015 to August 2017, he has also served as the Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
