IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians To Face Chennai Super Kings

Date:

Mumbai: The two most successful teams of the Indian Premier League, now at the bottom of the points table, Mumbai Indians will clash with Chennai Super Kings at the D.Y.Patil Stadium on Thursday.

Mumbai Indians are last in the points table with six losses in six games this season. They are yet to register their first win and will be looking for a much-needed start in this season of the IPL.

Skipper Rohit Sharma failed to make an impact in the top order and the form continued in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. Mumbai Indians franchise spent big bucks on wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, but he too failed to lead the innings for his side.

Key bowler to the side Jasprit Bumrah failed to bag any wicket in the last game. Jaydev Unadkat however, managed to secure two wickets but the bowling attack gave way in front of KL Rahul who went on to score a century in the game.

Chennai Super Kings are also trailing at the bottom of the points table at ninth position. They lost the last game against Gujarat Titans who won the game by three wickets. A good sign for the team is opener Rituraj Gaikwad looks set in the middle with a balanced inning of 73 runs in the last game.

Ambati Rayudu also scored 46 runs in 31 deliveries helping the team total to reach a decent target on board.

Spinner Maheesh Theekshana is going to be a key bowler with his outstanding performance in the last game. However, skipper Ravindra Jadeja is likely to replace Moen Ali from Mitchell Santner in this game.
