IPL 2022: Gujarat Tops The Points Table, RCB Makes Last Minute Entry In Playoffs

Date:

Mumbai: The league stage games of the ongoing Indian Premier League come to an end with Delhi Capitals suffering a loss, paving way for Royal Challengers Bangalore into the playoff round.

Gujarat Titans end up at the top of the points table with 20 points. Lucknow Supergiants and Rajasthan Royals qualify for the next round with 18 points each. Royal Challengers Bangalore made a thrilling entrance in the top four spots for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals in the last league game.

Kolkata Knight Riders ended their campaign of IPL with a nail-biting contest against Lucknow Supergiants where they lost the match by 2 runs. However, Rinku Singh showed character and stamped his authority for the upcoming season as one of the valuable players for the side. Rinku Singh scored 40 runs in just 15 deliveries but fell short of winning the game for his side after getting dismissed in the final over.

This season of IPL was filled with action and suspense. Teams that dominated every season fell short of making an impact this season. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings end at the bottom of the points table. However, IPL is not a single-season tournament but a long-term process of shaping and minting the best out of the players over the years.

The playoff round will begin with Gujarat Titans clashing with Gujarat Titans on 24th May at the Eden Gardens for a spot in the finals.
