We further did a Google Reverse Image with one of the screenshots and found that the same video was uploaded by a YouTube channel on May 11, 2022. The video was shared with a caption: “SLPP supporter Mahinda Kahandagama leads a pro-SLPP protest & is then verbally assaulted by GotaGoG.”

We found that DailyMirror.Lk had also tweeted the same video on May 9, 2022, with a caption: “Mahinda Kahandagama, President of the Colombo Municipal Councillors ‘and Employees’ Union of the Sri Lanka People’s Front (SLPP) participated in a protest rally in front of the Temple Trees Gate this morning in support of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.”

Thus, we can ascertain that the claim attached with the video is FAKE.
