Kapil Sibal Resigns From Congress; Files Nomination For Rajya Sabha With SP Support

New Delhi: Former Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Wednesday filed for Rajya Sabha with the support of the Samajwadi Party.

Kapil Sibal further confirmed that he had filed his resignation from the Congress Party on May 16. Sibal filed his nomination in the presence of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Kapil Sibal further added that “I’ve filed nomination as an Independent candidate. I have always wanted to be an independent voice in the country.”

Reportedly, Akhilesh Yadav confirmed that Kapil Sibal filed a nomination with Samajwadi Party’s support. He further added that Sibal is an eminent lawyer and has a political career. “He has discussed important issues in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.”
