UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson To Face Vote Of No-Confidence

Date:

London: Amid the growing prices of fuel and other basic necessities in Britain, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will face a vote of no-confidence on Monday.

According to reports, Boris Johnson was informed on Sunday that the “threshold” to carry out a no-confidence vote has been reached.

According to a tweet by the BBC, a press statement was released that confirmed that a vote of no-confidence will be conducted. The release further adds that “the votes will be counted immediately afterward.”

Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 committee, in a press briefing further added that no vote of confidence will take place for a year if UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson wins the current voting. However, he further also added that the rule might be changed.

The ‘Partygate’ and countless parties amid the COVID outbreak in the country led to controversies and public anger. According to Reuters, dozens of conservative lawmakers voiced their opinion against the actions of the Prime Minister at the time of a major epidemic.
