CUET 2022: UGC Chairman Lauds Efforts By NTA As 53,670 Candidates Attend Exam On Day 2

New Delhi: As the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) commenced across the country, UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar confirmed that 53,670 candidates attended the examination on Saturday.

UGC chairman added that the largest test center for two days in a row continues to be Delhi University with 635 candidates attending the exams out of 700.

Jagadesh Kumar added that the exams were conducted in 247 centers across the country with two time slots, with each slot consisting of 10 subjects. The attendance in slot one was 77% with 27,642 students taking the examination while slot 2 had a total turnout of 74% with 26,028 students attending the papers.

Talking about the preparations for conducting CUET, he added that a control room was set up by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which is supported by two national coordinators, 18 regional coordinators, 161 city coordinators and 251 observers.

In order to curb the malpractices in the examination, the NTA installed a total of 5000 cameras per shift with recording through CCTVs systems of all examination centers at the Control Room situated in the NTA.

The NTA further installed 1500 jammers across examination centers to stop cheating using mobile networks or the Internet.
