Delhi Police Detain Rahul Gandhi, Congress Leaders From Vijay Chowk

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others were detained by the Delhi Police from Vijay Chowk on Tuesday for protesting against the questioning done by the Enforcement Directorate on Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi and the price hike.

MPs including Mallikarjun Kharge, Ranjeet Ranjan, KC Venugopal, Imran Pratapgarhi, K Suresh.

According to reports, when asked about the reason for his protest he added that he is protesting against inflation and price rise.

Rahul Gandhi has been taken to Kingsway Camp where other Congress leaders are detained by Delhi Police.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge added that “We’re protesting as per the instruction of the police. All of this is a conspiracy by PM Modi & Amit Shah to completely destroy the Opposition and muzzle our voices. We won’t be scared, our fight will continue.”

Congress leader Deepender Hooda who was earlier detained added that “We had demanded that there be discussion in Parliament on inflation, unemployment, Agnipath & misuse of agencies. The Government rejected it. We said we’ll protest at Rajghat on this, but weren’t permitted. We said that we’ll give a memorandum to the President. They didn’t permit it.”
