With a Google search and relevant keywords, we found several news reports, dated August 10, 2022, stating that Suryakumar Yadav retained the second spot in the ICC Ranking of T20 Batsmen.

Scanning the official website of ICC, we found the latest Men’s T20I batting rankings, which were updated on August 7, 2022. As per the latest ranking on the official ICC website, Suryakumar Yadav stands in the Number 2 position with 805 points, whereas, Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam holds the Number 1 position with 818 points.

Hence, the above findings establish that the claim about Suryakumar Yadav being the number 1 T20 batsman in the world is FALSE.
