New Delhi: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and the Men in Blue are all set to clash in the highly-anticipated contest with Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup starting from August 27.

The countdown of the most-awaited game of the tournament, a clash between India and Pakistan has already created hype and pressure. The Indian side will be looking to perform and set the record straight after suffering a humiliating defeat in the 2021 T20 World Cup game.

Rohit while talking to Star Sports talked about the tournament and their preparations for the upcoming challenges. He admitted that the game is a “high pressure” contest. He further pointed out that everybody watches the India vs Pakistan game. He said that we want to create a normal atmosphere in the dressing room and not hype the match within the team.

He further added the role of Indian coach Rahul Dravid for keeping the team focused and said that “It is important for me and Rahul bhai to tell the players that it’s just another opposition,”.

He said that “ For me as a captain, it is very important that we create an environment for the players where they don’t feel that it’s a very high-pressure environment. We try to create (an environment) for the guys to come out in this team and try to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Because I strongly feel that it’s important not to allow the pressure to creep in too much.”
