Kolkata: India over the years has turned out to be the dominating force in world cricket. China wants to develop the standard of cricket in their country. In this view, the Chinese delegation led by Zha Liyou, Consul General, reached out to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to help them in their vision.
A three-member Chinese Delegation including Zhang Hongjie, Economic & Commercial Consul, Zhang ZHizhong, Head of Bilateral Relations Division Consul, met Avishek Dalmiya, President CAB, at the B.C.Roy Clubhouse and offered a proposal to establish comprehensive cricketing relations with Bengal.
Avishek Dalmiya said that the Chinese delegation sought cooperation for the development of cricket in Chongqing City. He further added that the association has agreed to cooperate with China.
He further added that “we believe in the philosophy of spreading cricket globally and it is encouraging to see China taking the initiative to play the game,”.
The delegation has further proposed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will help them in sending players from China to Kolkata for training.
The proposal pointed out how China wants to increase the scope of work with the help of visits, introduction of coaches and friendly matches between the teams.
