Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer ‘Liger’ is out in cinemas!

Liger is a sports drama starring Vijay Deverakonda as an MMA artist while Ananya Panday plays his love interest. Ramya Krishnan, Boxing legend Mike Tyson were also part of the supporting cast.

The film is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur and Karan Johar.

The film was aggressively promoted by Vijay and Ananya over the past several weeks and has collected a little over Rs 33.12 crore (by afternoon) on its opening day, as reported by trade analyst Ramesh Bala.

After intensive country-wide promotions, tours, and publicity, the much-hyped and highly-anticipated film was clouded with heavy expectations but did not perform satisfactorily.

Taking to the Twitter, netizens revealed that the film had a weak script, poor direction, the film lacks story and climax, Ananya Panday’s acting was “unbearable,” while Ramya Krishnan had an “over-the-top performance.”

Some even said that the film is a “torture” and an overall “flop”.
