Asia Cup 2022: India To Lock Horns With Sri Lanka In A Do-Or-Die Encounter

Date:

Dubai: India will take on Sri Lanka in the ultimate contest of Super 4 league in the ongoing Asia Cup on Tuesday at the Dubai International Stadium.

Men In Blue will be back after suffering a crucial loss against Pakistan by five wickets. Skipper Rohit Sharma and side have a crucial task of winning the upcoming games with a bigger margin of runs to secure a place in the top two of the points table.

Virat Kohli has announced his arrival in style after scoring two consecutive half-centuries in the last games. Hardik Pandya will be a key player in the squad with both bat and bowl. While India lost the last game, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma looked in touch as they gave an aggressive start to the innings.

Sri Lanka had a low start to the tournament but soon they were back on track after defeating Bangladesh in the league games, knocking them out of the tournament. Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka’s crucial match winning innings helped the island nation advance to the next stage of the game.

The Indian bowling attack has been targeted with a series of criticism after the last game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya failed to contain runs in the final overs leading to a comfortable win for the arch-rivals. However, with Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi in the attack, India will be looking to knock some early wickets and dominate the flow of the game.
