Following the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer, Brahmastra, a picture of a nearly empty theatre has surfaced on the internet claiming that it was taken during the screening of Brahmastra.
The text on the picture read: “ब्रह्मास्त्र के मॉर्निंग शो में नही दिखी भीड़, खाली रह गए सिनेमा हॉल, फिल्म बहुत बड़े डिजास्टर की ओर.”
(English translation: “There was no crowd during the morning show of Brahmastra, the cinema hall remained empty, the film was headed for a big disaster.”)
The caption read: 2-4 लोग फ़िल्म देखने गए है वो.. फ़िल्म देखने नही बल्कि खाली पड़ी कुर्सियों के फोटो खींचने गए है
(English translation: 2-4 people have gone to see the film.. They have not gone to watch the film, but have gone to take pictures of the empty chairs.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be misleading as the claim attached to the picture is false.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found a report by Deccan Herald dated October 17, 2020, which had carried the same picture.
The caption of the picture suggested that it was taken by the newswire Press Trust of India (PTI) at a movie theatre in Noida’s GIP Mall after theatres reopened during the pandemic.
“People watch a movie at Carnival Cinemas after it reopened for visitors, during Unlock 5, amid the coronavirus pandemic, at GIP Mall in Noida, Friday. Credit: PTI Photo,” the caption read.
On digging further, we found the picture in question on the official website of PTI.
In conclusion, the above information establishes that the picture in question is old (from 2020) and it is not related to Brahmastra which was released on September 9, 2022. Hence, the claim attached to it is false.
