Melbourne: A geared-up Indian side is set to face the arch-rivals Pakistan in their first T20 World Cup match on Sunday.
The Australian weather report predicted “very high” chances of rain during the match. Skipper Rohit Sharma acknowledged the rain threat and said “We have to be prepared for whatever comes our way. These things are not in our hands. We will come thinking that it is a 40-over match and if not then we are ready for even a 20-over match,”.
With both sides taking the crease in an ultimate game of cricket, Rohit Sharma opened up about the 2021 World Cup and added “Pakistan outplayed us in the 2021 World Cup because they played better, and in Asia Cup, they beat us and we beat them in a match before. Luckily we played them twice in the Asia Cup to gauge them,”.
Talking about Shami as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit said, “We know he is very good with the new ball. We wanted to give him an old ball and throw a challenge at him. He is very much ready,”.
As the fans wait for the high-intensity clash to unfold, the match will be broadcast in India from 1:30 pm. The match will be live on Disney+Hotstar and Star Sports Network.
