New Delhi: A partial eclipse of the sun was visible on Tuesday over most of India including some parts of the northeast.

The obscuration of the sun by the moon was approximately 40 to 50% at the time of the maximum eclipse in the northwestern parts of the country. Srinagar witnessed the maximum obscuration of the solar disc at 55 percent.

In Delhi and Mumbai, the percentage coverage of the sun at the time of the partial eclipse was approximately 44% and 24% respectively.

Since the eclipse took place in the evening, the ending of the celestial phenomenon will not be visible as it will take place after sunset.
