T20 World Cup: India Storms In Semi Finals After Defeating Zimbabwe By 71 Runs

Melbourne: Men In Blue finish the Super 12 at the top after registering a clinical victory of 71 runs against Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Indian bowling attack went through the top batters in the game as Ravichandran Ashwin secured three wickets in his spell.

Hardik Pandya and Shami managed to secure two wickets each in their respective spells.

Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav anchored thrilling innings as India set a total of 187 runs on board for Zimbabwe.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for the side. However, Rohit Sharma was dismissed early in the game by Blessing Muzarabani.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul led the innings in the powerplay and managed to get decent runs on the board. However, Kohli failed to convert the innings into a big one and was dismissed by Sean Williams.

In-form batsman Suryakumar Yadav took charge of the innings with KL Rahul. KL Rahul scored a spectacular half-century. Suryakumar Yadav led the innings and played a power-packed inning of 61 runs in just 25 deliveries.

With this, India qualify for the semi finals and will take on England on November 10. Pakistan and India have qualified from Group 2 while New Zealand and England have qualified  from Group 1.
