Face Mask Not Compulsory But Advisable During Air Travel: Centre

New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation in a major announcement said that the use of face masks during air travel will no longer be compulsory but passengers should preferably use them during travel.

Amid the recent drop in number of COVID-related cases in the country over the past few months. The order comes in line with the government’s graded approach of COVID management response.

The order further highlighted that any specific reference to fine-penal action need not be announced as part of the in-flight announcements.

The order stated that “in view of the threat posed by COVID-19, all passengers should preferably use masks/ face covers.”
