Word ‘Pitai’ Should Not Be Used For Our Jawans: EAM Jaishankar On Rahul Gandhi’s Remark

Date:

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar while speaking in the Lok Sabha slammed the remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that the word ‘pitai’ should not be used for our jawans.

EAM S Jaishankar said that “We’ve no problem with political criticism but we should not disrespect our jawans. I have heard that my own understanding needs to be deepened.”

Further talking about the remarks, he added that “When I see who is giving the advice I can only bow and respect. The word ‘pitai’ should not be used for our jawans.”

EAM Jaishankar said that the ‘jawans’ should not be criticized directly or indirectly. He said that “Our soldiers are standing at a height of 13,000 feet in Yangtse and guarding our border. They should be respected and appreciated.”

Further slamming the opposition, EAM S Jaishankar raised questions about the blame of being indifferent towards China. He said “If we were indifferent to China then who sent the Indian Army to the border? If we were indifferent to China then why are we pressurizing China for de-escalation and disengagement today? Why are we saying publicly that our relations are not normal?”

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi during a press conference amid his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ claimed that China is preparing for war.
