It’s Not Political: Health Minister On Letter To Congress Over Bharat Jodo Yatra

Date:

New Delhi: Union Health Minister while speaking at the parliament said that the letter sent to Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, asking them to follow the COVID-related protocols was not political.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya while speaking at the parliament said that “It’s not political. I am the health minister and have to take care of this.”

He further added that three MPs wrote a letter to him about their concern. He said that “Congress leaders like the Himachal CM turned positive after participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

However, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit back and called the letter to be another “excuse” of the government to stop the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He said that “It’s their (BJP) new idea, they wrote a letter to me saying COVID is coming and stop the Yatra.”

He further added that “All these are excuses to stop this Yatra, they are scared of India’s truth.”

Earlier today, Congress spokesperson took to Twitter and added that “4 cases of Omicron sub-variant BF.7 driving Chinese surge were reported in Gujarat & Odisha in July, Sept & Nov. Health Minister writes a letter to Rahul Gandhi yesterday. PM is reviewing situation today. Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Delhi day after.”
