Centre Advises States/UTs To Keep Enough Supply Of Oxygen Amid Global COVID Surge

New Delhi: Amid the global surge in the number of COVID cases, centre keeps a close watch as they regulate state governments to be prepared in vigil in the fight against COVID in the near future.

In a fresh advisory, the central government has urged state governments and Union Territories to have enough supply of oxygen.

  • Ministry has urged state governments and UTs to review the supply of liquid oxygen.
  • The advisory urged state governments to keep PSA plants functional and conduct mock drills at regular intervals.
  • The availability of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in the health facilities and an uninterrupted supply chain for their refilling should to be ensured.
  • Adequate Inventory of Oxygen Cylinders along with backup stocks and a robust refilling system is to be maintained.
  • Ministry further added “Availability of functional Life Support Equipment such as Ventilators, BiPAP and Sp02 systems along with their consumables.
  • India recorded a total of 201 new COVID-related cases in the last 24 hours.
